In the heart of Campobasso, a young professional wanted a home that felt entirely her own: sophisticated yet welcoming, elegant without ever feeling formal. A contemporary interior with subtle references to classical design, expressed through details and proportions rather than rigidity.
The project began by identifying what wasn’t working within the existing layout.
The long, narrow bedroom was transformed with the addition of a fluted-glass walk-in wardrobe: a new volume that interrupts the perspective, restores balance to the room, and allows light to gently filter through.
In the living area, we focused on transitions, proportions, and sightlines, selecting a sofa that sits naturally within the composition. The fireplace was conceived as a focal point — an architectural presence rather than simply a functional element.
In the kitchen, the niches were redesigned to accommodate the cabinetry with precision, eliminating the awkward gaps above the units that would have made the composition feel unfinished. The entrance storage was also redesigned to speak the same language as the rest of the home. Custom-designed boiserie brings rhythm, character, and depth to the walls.
The design emerges from the meeting of classical references and a distinctly contemporary sensibility. Boiserie gives rhythm and balance to the walls, recalling the elegance of historic interiors, while furniture with clean, essential lines brings lightness and modernity to the composition. Every element is carefully considered to create an atmosphere that feels refined, yet never excessive.
Marble takes centre stage, its natural veining bringing depth and character to the interiors. In contrast, glass introduces a sense of lightness, allowing light to travel through the spaces and creating a continuous dialogue between solid surfaces and transparency.
A soft palette, luminous finishes, and carefully selected details guide the eye naturally from one room to the next. Classical references remain present in the proportions and details, but are reinterpreted through a clean, feminine, and contemporary lens.
The result is a home with a strong yet quiet character, shaped around the personality of the woman who lives there. A private sanctuary where material meets light, and every room reflects the pleasure of finally living in a space that feels entirely her own.
