Buying in Italy

Marina Santoro - Interior Designer

“A Quiet Home was born from a need, before it was an idea”

How did it all begin?

“My background is technical: I have a degree in Engineering. Then I attended a training course at the Staging and Redesign School in Bologna. That’s where I discovered emotion, atmosphere, and identity.

For a while, I chased a career — the kind made of boxes to tick and goals to achieve. But something was missing. I realized I was leaving my true essence behind.”

And so you came back home…

“Yes. I returned to my family’s company, which has been involved in public construction since 1970. It’s solid, rooted knowledge — something I’ve always breathed in. Together with my brother, we thought: why not bring this experience into the private sector? Why not create something that could speak to those who, from afar, dream of living in Italy?”

And that’s how A Quiet Home was born.

“A Quiet Home was born from the need to slow down. I believe that true luxury today is living with authenticity. We’ve forgotten the simple, beautiful traditions: the scent of hot coffee in the morning, pausing to watch a sunset.

For me, design is not just about aesthetics. It’s about creating spaces that have meaning. I work with natural materials, colors that inspire calm. I want anyone who steps into one of our homes to feel they’ve entered a refuge — a place where they can take off every mask.”

How would you describe your approach?

“We don’t just furnish spaces: we create life experiences. Every project begins by listening to the person who will live there. We don’t stop at beauty: we go deeper, to the essence.

Because a home — when it’s the right one — doesn’t just welcome you. It recognizes you.”
